Class Two: Art
Over the past few weeks, our growing artists have been exploring the technique of frottage and the creation of botanical drawings. The children have made some beautiful pieces of artwork that they should be very proud of - well done Class Two!
Art: Map it out
Our art topic this half term is called Map it Out. Class 1 have been working hard with Mrs Wardale. Reception created their own 3d map as a group. Year 2 made their own piece of felt and used part of their map in their designs. A fantastic afternoon of fun and learning!
Autumn fun
We had an afternoon inspired by everything Autumn! We listened to the Leaf Man story and created our own characters. We painted Autumn trees and made leaf rubbings. Reception used conkers to count and match numbers. Year 2 wrote some amazing descriptions of seasonal changes.
Installation Art

Butterfly Sun Catchers
Today we made some beautiful butterfly sun catchers. We coloured our templates using coloured crayons. Once this was done we then used cotten buds to cover our picture in baby oil. The oil helps our pictures to become more see through. We then wiped off any excess oil before allowing to dry.

Colour splash!
We had great fun experimenting with colours. We identified primary colours - red, yellow and blue and mixed them to create orange, green and purple!
Art - Creating Paper Sculptures
Our art lesson was lots of fun today, creating paper sculptures using different techniques of folding, rolling and twisting paper.
Art - Recreating a famous painting
In Art this week, Class Three used photography to recreate a famous painting. We studied and recreated the painting, ‘The Scream’ by Edvard Munch using expressionistic colours like the artist!
