Oak Class learned some of the different trading routes that were taken by the Vikings and why trade was so important. Our classroom became a marketplace in Jorvik, which was a major manufacturing centre and trading hub for the Vikings. The children were assigned different job roles and used sentence prompts to engage in the exchanging of goods rather than money, whilst carefully considering which items would be of benefit to their job role and daily lives!
